EYEBROW TATTOO DESIGN

What is a Cosmetic Tattoo?

A cosmetic tattoo is a procedure that deposits pigment into the skin in small quantities mimicking colours of natural hairs to fill, correct or create a more desirable brow.

A tattoo machine is used to add micro-openings into the second layer of the skin where pigment is left and eventually entrapped in this layer once healed.

The procedure is done under cream-based anesthetics to make it more comfortable, but a small amount of discomfort can be felt. Two visits of the same procedure is required to complete the treatment, the initial design and the perfecting design. There-after, Top Up visits can be booked to top up the pigment within the skin which will continue to fade over time.

What is a Cosmetic Tattoo?

So, you’ve heard about these “magical tattoos that you can get and you’ll never have to pencil in the brows again saving so much time in the mornings”.

Well, we’ve got the research and the facts you need to know.

A cosmetic tattoo is a procedure that deposits pigment into the skin in small quantities mimicking colours of natural hairs to fill, correct or create a more desirable brow. A tattoo machine is used to add micro-openings into the second layer of the skin where pigment is left and eventually entrapped in this layer. The procedure is done under cream-based anaesthetics to make it more comfortable, but some discomfort can be felt.

Cosmetic tattoos are semi-permanent and WILL gradually fade over time and here is why!

The pigments in the ink are made by organic matter that is safer to be used in the delicate skin on the face and is able be carefully blended to represent the many colours of hairs. The colours used contain small amounts of yellow, red, green, tiny amounts of blue and black to make shades of brown, which is why they look so natural, and can mimic the same colour hair as your hair or a very natural lip colour.

Body art inks contain ‘carbon’ They will gradually fade over time simply by the blood flowing through the body and slowly collecting the pigment and eliminating it. Also, environmental factors, client’s skin type, sun exposure, medications, skincare, and health are all considerations that add to pigments fading under the skin.

The skin on our face is regenerated at a much faster rate than the skin on the rest of our body and is replaced every 30 – 40 days and this means that tattoos on our face are semi-permanent.which generally will not fade out and are made up of highly pigmented and deep colours which are bright (blues, reds, yellows) and deep (black) in tone and are deposited deeper into the second layer of the skin. The skin on the rest of our bodies is thicker and sheds at a slower rate than our face. So, the deeper and brighter pigments and slower regeneration allows the body art tattoo to be affective and hold longevity under the skin permanently. Although you will notice that almost all body art ink turns a blue/grey under the skin in time and this is the deep colours and the carbon that remains in the skin layers.

For cosmetic tattooing, the type and condition of your skin and what your blood removes can also affect the way the ink remains in your skin from the time of treatment and in the future. The look and colour may also change due to oils and chemicals in the skin.
